How He Asked

Sean's parents wanted to come to downtown Charleston to go shopping on the weekend of December 17, 2016. Sean had a work "project" on Church Street he wanted to take Ashley to see first. While walking down the street, Ashley stopped at the sight of a little red dog that was wagging it's tail and staring at them on the sidewalk. "That looks just like Finley," she said. Sean nervously agreed that the naked dog looked like their rare Irish Doodle, Finley. The dog started prancing towards the street and Sean scooped it up to carry it towards a large gated backyard.

When Ashley turned to see where Sean was taking the dog she locked eyes with Chris Cashon, her brother, and Michelle O'dell, her best friend. After both Chris and Michelle turned on their heels and ran to the gated back yard, Ashley hesitantly followed to be greeted by Sean shoving the dog (obviously Finley) in her arms and telling her to read the collar he had dangling directly in front of her face. Her eyes couldn't focus on the words of the tag that said "Mommy, will you marry Daddy," but she noticed Sean down on one knee in front of her smiling with a ring box in his hand.

Shrieks of "Of course" came out of her mouth over and over while her brother took photos of the moment.

They moved next-door to the historic Mrs. Whaley's Garden where the proposal was intended to take place and took photos while Ashley absorbed the engagement. Michelle, Chris, and Michelle's husband CJ were all in on the planning and were there to capture the perfect day with photography and video. Finley, of course, had her own way of helping Sean propose.

After additional photos and some time together, Ashley was once again stunned to tears with family and close friends from out of town awaiting their arrival downtown for a celebration. Sean, Chris, Michelle and CJ had put so much effort and thought into the proposal. Safe to say, it was very memorable!

How We Met

Hot Fish Club in Murrell's Inlet, SC is a little shack on the water that most would never find on a map. Somehow, that is exactly where Jamie Blackmon and Ashley ended up on March 16, 2012.

Jamie had asked Ashley to come to the beach with her and her cousin for Spring Break. On their last night at the beach, the girls headed over to Hot Fish for a drink and sat alone at a table only to feel eyes on them. Ashley called over a guy who was shyly staring in their direction. When she asked his name, he replied "Seanathon" and she immediately asked for his driver's license. After somehow overlooking this, the two spoke for most of the night and when it came time to leave, Sean asked for her phone number. Ashley did not believe in giving out her number to a stranger - luckily, Jamie did. Sean called her the following night and they have spoken each day since.

Together they have survived two years of long distance dating,

three years of merging lives, job changes and the ups and

downs of life. Now they are finally ready to celebrate their

commitment to each other with their closest friends and

family -- all of you!

MICHELLE

Michelle and Ashley  still disagree over how they met. They both say it was in 7th grade but they are unsure who asked who if there was a "bat in the cave"(something up their nose).  Regardless, the two carpooled together until high school graduation from that day forward. After going to separate colleges, Michelle had a brief stint up North to which no one mentions. Now that she has that out of her system, the two have reunited in sunny Charleston for wine nights and double dates with their men.

TRACY

Tracy and Ashley met sophomore year of college on the ADPi hall. Ashley was always in Tracy's room watching movies and laying in her roommates bed. The two decided to become official  roommates for their remaining college years. What happened next is a blur of piñatas, "Friends" marathons, Nintendo 64 and dance parties. They also really enjoyed a good "Wipe Out" course and had some people really believing Tracy was on an upcoming season of the game show. The two still talk daily in puns of "Friends" references on their way to work each morning.

GRETCHEN

Gretchen and Ashley met freshman year of college and instantly became dancing partners for life at ADPi functions. Fast forward 7 years, Ashley became Gretchen's roommate when Gret was forced to live long distance from her new husband for a short period of time because of his work and her continued education. Gretchen could offer real time advice from a whole new perspective when the hardships of a long distance relationship seemed too much to bare and their mutual love for Grey's Anatomy and ice cream seemed to be a cure all. She was also able to celebrate when Ashley found out Sean was moving to Charleston.  Watch out for this hot Momma on the dance floor - she will be the one with her shoes off!

JAMIE

Jamie and Ashley met sophomore year of college through their sorority and quickly bonded over their common love for dogs, "The Golden Girls" and guys. Whenever Jamie is around, a party is sure to follow. This may have something to do with her childhood love for clowns. No one can be too hard on Jamie.  She is the reason these nuptials are even taking place - the lone suspect behind passing out Ashley's phone number to a complete stranger.  Good thing "Seanathon" didn't turn out to be crazy!  For the eligible bachelors out there, Jamie is currently single.  The tattoo in this photo is only temporary.  Text Ashley for her digits as she plans to someday return this favor.

Groomsmen

WESTLEY

Westley and Sean's friendship goes back about 25 years. The two lived across the street from each other and some might say the friendship was a little forced. It took a little time for the relationship to grow because of  the significantly large age gap of one full year. Best known now for his brutal honesty that some may mistaken for being rude, Westley’s loyalty as a friend will never come into question.

STEVEN

Steven (aka Peve) and Sean met at some point during their childhood, though no one can actually date back as to when. Peve worked hard carrying all of his Springfield sports team's on his back because the real athletes resided in Rincon. While the two may have been rivals on the field, they were easy friends because of Steven's knack for being the life of a party. His magnetic personality makes him one of the easiest guys to get to know in a room - a personality trait that is very hard to come by.

JASON

Jason(Mongin) and Sean met in Kindergarten but didn't become best buds until the 1st grade. The kindergarten year was a wash because of the time it took to get used Mongin's general persona. Once a friendship was established however, there was no looking back. The two shared countless memories on the soccer field,  screaming in live wrestling events, and everything in between. You can still find these two late night gaming giggling like girls in their own respectable living rooms - much to Ashley's joy.

MATTHEW

Matt and Sean met for the first time playing soccer in Springfield early in life and bonded over their shared competitive streak.  At this point, the two have most likely spent just as much time reminiscing their past at El Real' as they have spent together playing soccer in their childhood. Matt is a good person to have around because he reminds you to enjoy the moment you're in and really brings out the best in every situation.
